Storm-related flood cleanup addresses flooding caused specifically by severe weather events – heavy rainfall overwhelming drainage, hurricane or tropical storm flooding, or flash flooding from rapid runoff. This type of flooding often affects multiple properties in an area at once, which means demand for cleanup services spikes right when storms hit, and getting a fast response scheduled matters more than usual during these events.
You're dealing with storm-related flooding if water entered your property during or immediately after heavy rain or a named storm event, if flooding came from outside sources like overwhelmed storm drains or rising water rather than an internal plumbing failure, or if wind-driven rain got into the property through roof or window damage during the storm itself. Storm flooding often brings debris and higher contamination risk than a typical indoor water event, since it's picked up whatever was in its path outside.
We prioritize rapid response during and immediately after storm events, understanding that demand spikes and fast action limits how much damage develops while people wait. We assess for both the flooding itself and any related storm damage – roof damage, broken windows, or structural issues that let water in – since storm flooding often comes with these complicating factors that pure indoor flooding doesn't have. Extraction and drying proceed using the same core process as other flood cleanup, but we also address any ongoing vulnerability, like a damaged roof, that could let more water in before repairs are complete. We document storm damage thoroughly, since these claims often involve insurance and sometimes FEMA assistance depending on the severity and location.
Cost depends on the extent of flooding and whether structural storm damage complicates the cleanup, plus how quickly we're able to respond given storm-related demand in the area. Properties in Portland, OR affected by significant storm events sometimes deal with extended response times industry-wide, which is why calling immediately matters.
Storm flooding needs a fast, coordinated response. Call (206) 944-2055 as soon as it's safe to do so.
